Who we share it with

- Professional advisers and regulators, where required by law
Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection.
Location information we collect
Dheli-Okada collects location information in two ways.
When a rider is available for work. A rider who sets their status to ONLINE shares their location once, so that we can match them with a nearby passenger or delivery request. We do not collect a rider’s location while they are OFFLINE.
During a delivery. When a rider accepts a delivery, the app records their location continuously from the moment they collect the item until the delivery is confirmed. This allows the sender, the recipient and, where the delivery was arranged by a vendor, that vendor, to see where the item is while it is in transit.
We process this location information to perform our contract with the rider and to provide the delivery service to the sender, recipient and vendor. Riders agree to location sharing during deliveries as a condition of accepting delivery jobs.
Location collection during a delivery stops when the delivery is confirmed or cancelled. Riders can see when tracking is active.
We do not track riders when they are not carrying a delivery, and we do not track passengers.
Who can see location information
While a delivery is in progress, the rider’s location is visible to the sender, the recipient, and the vendor who arranged the delivery if there is one. It is not visible to other riders or to the public.
Dheli-Okada staff can access location information where it is needed to resolve a dispute about a delivery, to investigate a safety incident, or where we are required to do so by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are retained for up to two years. Records relating to contracts, invoices, and statutory obligations are retained for at least six years, as required under Nigerian company and tax law.
We delete the detailed location trail for a delivery seven days after the delivery is confirmed or cancelled. After that period we keep only a record of the delivery itself: who carried it, when it was collected, when it was confirmed, and who confirmed it. We may also keep the collection and delivery points. We do not keep the route between them.
A rider’s ONLINE location is overwritten each time it is updated and is not retained as a history.
How we protect it
Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to email and website administration is restricted to authorised personnel and protected by strong authentication.
